What is Project Palooza?  It's a family fun day celebrating the work of Project Enlightenment!  Enjoy interactive activities for kids and explore a variety of local resources for families.  In keeping with our mission, Project Palooza is both a fundraiser and a “friend-raiser”. This event serves to promote awareness of Project Enlightenment's programs and services and to raise funding through sponsorships to directly support those programs.  If you've never attended a Palooza event, mark your calendar to bring the family and see what it's all about!

  • DJ Ben will be on site with feel good family friendly tunes.
  • Booths offer information for families about area resources and activities from healthcare providers to enrichment activities.
  • Staff from Wake County Public Libraries and Smart Start will be on site with access to reading resources.
  • Meet a local team mascot- past guests have included Wool E. Bull, Sal the Salamander, and NCSU's Mr. Wuf.  Who will show up this year?
  • Enjoy a free shaved ice treat and have lunch at the food truck*.
  • Enter the raffle to win great family prize baskets of books, crafts, games and more!
  • Get your face painted and take home a balloon animal
  • A police officer or firefighter usually drops in to meet the kids, often bringing a vehicle or K-9 companion along.
  • Each child will receive a swag bag filled with great information and goodies from our sponsors and vendors (while supplies last).
  • And, as always, Project Enlightenment staff will be on hand to help connect you with their vast array of services.

You don't want to miss this FREE* event!  Mark your calendar to join us in the parking lot at Project Enlightenment!

* Admission and activities are free.  Food truck items typically range from $5 to $10.
